SCIT celebrates ten years of synergizing management with information technology. SCIT has carved its own position as the leading provider of IT-related postgraduate management education. Infrastructure
SCIT is located in Rajiv Gandhi InfoTech Park, Hinjawadi, Pune
and is surrounded by some top corporate establishments like
Wipro, Infosys and Tata Technologies amongst others. The Pune
campus has over 1000 network connections, and the network is
built on high performance Gigabit Ethernet backbone on optical
fiber cable with Internet & WIFI connectivity.
The facilities on campus include
Separate hostels for boys and girls; Multi-cuisine cafeteria and
mess; State-of-the-art gymnasium, Yoga and Aerobics center,
Well-managed swimming pool, Auditorium for seminars and campus
events, General store, 24-hour security service, SBI ATM etc
Library
SCIT has modern library faculties with more than 6000 books,
national and international journals, CD ROMs, CBTs and software
on technology and management
Multi-platform Computer Labs
SCIT Labs are enriched with a wide range of platforms and
software and has a special “Proof-of-Concept” lab where students
can explore and experiment networking solutions. SAP University
Alliance partnership provides direct access to an array of
opportunities to learn.
Health Care Centre
The Symbiosis Centre for Health Care (SCHC) is an in house
Health Care Centre exclusive to the staff & students of the
various institutes of Symbiosis. Each student is insured under
the Mediclaim & Road Traffic Accident Policy.
Placements
After a track record 100% placement year after year, SCIT’s
placement during the economic slowdown was remarkable with more
than 80% graduates having been recruited by the top IT companies
like Deloitte, Intel, ICICI, Sunguard, TCS, Tech Mahindra,
Thoughtworks, Vodafone, Wipro and many others including
nationalized banks. The highest package was Rs.11.34 lacs p.a.
and the average was Rs.5.25 lacs p.a. Some of them have turned
technopreneurs.
Programmes Offered
MBA (IT Business Management)
SCIT offers electives every semester from the academic year
2010. Core courses build foundation of an MBA programme tuned to
Information Business while flexibility to choose electives
allows students to shape their futures.
MBA programme includes 4 semesters and 15-week industry internship after the first year. Each semester has Core Courses which are mandatory and Elective Courses which could be chosen from 5 different categories viz. General, Information Security, Networks & IT Infrastructure, Software Solution Management and Systems
Total Credits
100 (Students may specialise in a particular elective category
other than GENERAL, if the total number of elective credits
exceed 20).
Method of instruction
SCIT follows ‘English’ as the language of instruction. The
learning process at SCIT focuses on three aspects namely;
enhancing the knowledge base through strong curricula, practice
through industry interaction, and soft skills to ensure
all-round development.
SCIT blends class room teaching with a range of experiential
learning methodologies like Audio Visual Learning, Library
Research, Group Learning, Games, Role-play, Case Discussion
Group, Experiential Assignments, Academic Debates and other
modes.
Duration: 2 Years fulltime residential.
Intake
180 seats; (Reservation: SC-15%; ST-7.5%; Differently Abled- 3%;
Management Sponsored – 15%; 2 seats for Kashmiri Migrants over &
above the intake; 15% seats for international students over &
above the intake)
Eligibility
* Graduate of any faculty of any Statutory University with
50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.
* Candidates passing degree examination by part-time /
correspondence / external course or in one sitting are not
eligible.
* Graduates in IT/computer science/computer application; or in
engineering or with IT related experience will be preferred.
